Update from Over WI
Our speaker last month was David Duker, author of “One Of Our Own”, a book about a St Neots’ man and Battle of Britain pilot Squadron Leader Victor Ekins, MBE, DFC. As a child, David’s Grandad told him stories of people he had met and places he had been during the Second World War. Unsurprisingly, David developed a lifelong interest in the Battle of Britain and the WWII generation. Around 10 years ago David set out on a quest to meet and interview some of the people who lived and served through the war years. During his research, a chance discovery of an online document mentioning Victor Ekins and St…

Over Memory Cafe – November’s Cafe
Some say it’s never too soon for Christmas, and at November’s Over Memory Cafe, Swavesey Community Choir provided a morning of much loved carols, a few new songs and a beautiful piece that enthralled us all. We are so grateful for the choir joining us, for Jane Dobinson who led some gentle exercise and Mr. Marigold reading poetry. Our guests left suitably refreshed and invigorated, both mind and body. Again a team of volunteers ensured our guests were suitably refreshed, we massively appreciate their time and enthusiasm. Most of all we are so pleased that our guests find the morning enjoyable and fun . See you all at our Christmas…

Puddleducks is housed in the purpose-built pre-school rooms at Over Community Centre, right at the heart of the village. Over the recent holiday we undertook some exciting work on our outside learning environment. PJB Build Ltd and AB Construction gave up their week to help create our amazing new outside play space – complete with new fencing, a wonderful mud kitchen area, sensory water and music play, a giant sandpit, small world tyres as well as opportunities for reading, learning, exploring, creating and generally having lots of…

Over Memory Cafe – October meeting
Terrific Café again on Saturday, a great crowd, marvellous cake and a fantastic morning of entertainment provided by Stuart Green – the songs selected giving ample opportunity for all to join in, a massive thank you. A few new attending that was good to see, again, people leaving with big smiles. Stuart Green was our entertainer having kicked off our first Cafe in July. Stuart led the morning’s singing with a mix of new and old songs, a couple for Halloween a bit or air guitar and just great fun. We also held a short memory quiz in the intermission then Mr.Marigold (our resident poet) made a guest star appearance…

Rainbows and Guides in Over
We are looking for volunteers to re-open Rainbows and Guides in Over. Could it be you? Rainbows welcomes all girls from 4 to 7 years old for play, learning and tons of fun in a colourful, safe space. She’ll laugh, sing and make a happy mess (and help clear it up!) as she chooses her way through our programme of activities. She’ll have plenty of magic moments: she might become a time traveller, an animal tracker, a pop singer, a stargazer. It’s a wonderful world of adventure, week after week, just for her. Guides is a relaxed, welcoming space where you can have fun, learn and be yourself with good…
