OWLS Community Car Scheme urgently needs your help. If you are recently retired, work part time or are unemployed, have a full driving licence and a couple of hours you could offer each week then please get in touch. You don\u2019t have to be available on a certain day or time each week. Drivers get 45p a mile in total and have to be DBS checked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
OWLS have undertaken almost 10,000 journeys since its formation, helping many elderly and people with poor mobility\/health in our Community to attend medical appointments and occasional social visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Customers are very appreciative and value the service, knowing that drivers are local friendly people who are giving their time to help others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In recent months we have unfortunately lost several of our drivers due to changes in circumstance and health and we are now in a position where we can\u2019t meet demand for journeys and desperately need new drivers. Please help us continue this much needed Community service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We would also like to recruit additional volunteer coordinators who answer the scheme\u2019s mobile and arrange journeys for a fortnight at a time every 8 \u2013 10 weeks (max. 5 times a year).
