Please note the surgery will be CLOSED for the Summer Bank Holiday on MONDAY 26<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong> AUGUST. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please plan ahead and make sure you have enough medication to last, remembering to order your repeats at least THREE<\/strong> working days before collection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the surgery is closed please call 111 for medical assistance, or 999 for a life threatening emergency.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whooping Cough (Pertussis)<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/td>Cases of whooping cough are continuing to rise. If you are pregnant, it’s important to get the whooping cough vaccine to protect your new-born baby, as they are at greatest risk. Young babies with whooping cough are often very unwell and many are likely to need hospital treatment as it can lead to pneumonia and permanent brain damage.  The immunity you get from the vaccine passes to your baby through the placenta and protects them until they are old enough to be vaccinated at 8 weeks old.  You can access a whooping cough vaccine from your GP and through some antenatal clinics. If you are more than\u202f16 weeks pregnant and have not been offered the vaccine, talk\u202fto your\u202fmidwife or GP and make an appointment to get vaccinated. <\/td><\/tr>

As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the records we hold for our patients are up to date, you may receive an SMS message from the surgery. We would like to assure our patients that these messages are not scams. The message will invite you to follow the link to a questionnaire asking you to confirm personal information such as your smoking status, BMI or ethnicity. If you have any concerns, or if you are unable to open the link, please telephone the surgery and our reception team will be happy to help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We apologise that, due to the increased demands on the GP\u2019s, there may be delays in being seen for your routine or emergency appointment. Please bear in mind that our staff are working hard to minimise this but it is always advisable to allow a little extra time, just in case. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patient Participation Group (PPG) Meetings <\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PPG brings together patients, GPs and staff from a GP practice. They meet quarterly to discuss issues relating to their surgery and the services provided to patients. This allows GPs and staff to work with patients to plan services which best meet the needs of the people who use those services. All of our patients are welcome.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next meeting will be on Tuesday 13<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong> August, 7pm<\/strong> at the Willingham Medical Practice <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carers Meeting At Our NEW VENUE <\/strong>\u00a0
\u00a0If you are a carer for someone and need advice and financial or emotional support, please come along to our carers support meeting on Wednesday 7th<\/sup> August <\/strong>at the Wilford Furlong Centre in Willingham<\/strong>, where we will be holding a drop in session between 2pm and 4pm<\/strong>. Please come along and get some support from other people in the local community. Refreshments are provided, there\u2019s no need to pre-book and it\u2019s completely FREE<\/strong>! Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month and for more information please contact susan.lawson7@nhs.net<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
