Last month on Wed 16th October Tim Henshaw gave a very interesting talk on the past, present and future of NIAB and its importance to agriculture in our country. Members brought in some plants to sell and we had our usual raffle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Flower of the Month Competition results for October were:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1<\/em>st<\/em> \u2013 Jean Diver (Alstroemeria \u2018Indian Summer\u2019)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2nd\u00a0\u2013 Cynthia Bidwell (Sedum Spectabile) \u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3rd\u00a0\u2013 Adrian Dibb (Dahlia).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other flowers brought in were: Dahlias, Colchicum (autumn crocus), Hydrangea, Abelia, Ceratostigma and Cosmos \u2018Cherry Chocolate\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wed 20<\/strong>th<\/strong> November at 7.30pm in the Main Hall of OCC, we have our next club evening. Hawk Honey will tell us about \u2018The Forgotten Bees\u2026\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We usually think of honey bees and bumble bees needing our help in the garden. Find out more about all the other kinds of bees we might see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors are always welcome for a fee of \u00a33 per visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
