D-Day 80th Anniversary

Over and District Royal British Legion and Over Parish Council are hosting an event to
commemorate the anniversary of the DDay landings.

There are some national events that we will be joining such as the Ringing of Bells at 6.30pm and
the Beacon Lighting at 9.15pm as requested by HM King Charles III.

We are aiming to walk the distance from Over to Normandy around the village green on the 6th
June and would welcome anyone who wishes to join us. There will be an opportunity to walk the
route, and pass the five points set up to represent the Sword, Juno, Utah,Gold and Omaha
beaches, during the day or evening. We will need to cover 1000 laps of the green!

There will be a pop up cafe in the evening serving drinks, hot dogs and cakes, candy floss and
popcorn.
