Over Gardening Club

A talk by Liz Porteous - Deadly, dangerous & downright annoying, are garden plants friend or foe?   We are a friendly group of local gardeners and plant lovers, affiliated to the RHS and holding regular meetings in the Main Hall at Over Community Centre.  There is usually a guest speaker and a raffle and also occasional plant sales and organised visits to local gardens.  Membership is currently £15pa, with the added benefit of 10% discount on most items at Oakington Garden Centre; visitors are always welcome, with a guest fee of £3 per meeting.  Please contact gardeningclubover@gmail.com for further information or just come along to the next meeting.

At the February meeting there will be a talk by Patricia of Oakington Garden Centre, entitled "Oakington Garden Centre, the Next Generation - the past, the present and the future of a family run business"   Over Gardening Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm in the Main Hall at Over Community Centre.  Current subscription is £15 per year, or £3 per visit for visitors.  Members also benefit from 10% discount off most items at Oakington Garden Centre on production of a valid membership card,   For further information please email gardeningclubover@gmail.com

The talk this month is about "Monet at Giverny" where the painter lived until his death in 1883. Our speaker is Caroline Holmes who is a well regarded speaker, broadcaster and writer on horticulture and often with a historical content. She has given talks about Monet at Giverny. Some of our members visited Monet's gardens and house on a Gardening Club holiday several years ago. This is the meeting when we judge the white geranium plants which were given out as plugs back in April. It will be interesting to see how they all differ so please bring yours along even if you think it is not a winner. Have a walk around your own garden to choose an entry for our Flower of the Month Competition. Don't forget to bring your purse for the Grand Raffle and chance to win one of the numerous prizes.
