Do you enjoy textile hobbies? Are you available on Friday mornings? Whether you're an embroiderer, crocheter, knitter, patchworker .......any form of textile artist or crafter really, and whatever level of skill you have, you'd be most welcome to join us in Over Community Centre on Friday mornings from 9.30. Our aim to get together to socialise through our hobbies, hopefully inspiring and helping each other to learn new skills. We meet in the lounge and support the centre by buying our drinks from the café. 
Come and help us celebrate our 10th anniversary year with a concert at All Saint's Church, Longstanton on Friday 3 July at 7.45pm. There'll be wine and nibbles as usual, and all for free! Donations welcome for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. |

Our July meeting is the Summer Garden Party which will be held on Wednesday 15th July in Carolyn Redmayne's garden at 96 Station Road. We are a friendly group of gardeners and plant lovers who have regular meetings with a speaker and raffle and occasional plant sales. Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month; from September to May we meet at Over Community Centre where we usually have a guest speaker talking on various aspects of gardening, in June we often arrange a visit to a local garden and in July we hold a social evening. Membership runs annually from 1 April to 31 March and is currently £15.00 per year. Visitors to meetings are welcome but we do ask for a guest fee of £3.00 per visit. A 10% discount is available on most items at Oakington Garden Centre, plants at Parkhall Nursery in Somersham and also items from Madingley Mulch with a current membership card. If you would like to come to a meeting as a guest just turn up or contact any member of the committee for further details, we would love to see you. Copies of the Schedules for both the Adult and the Child Sections of the show are now available on the Over Parish Council Website under Village Events. We have all the usual Produce classes: Vegetables, Fruit, Plants, Flowers & Arrangements, Home Cooking, Jams and Preserves, Homemade Beers and Spirits. The Children’s Section incudes Home Baking, Collage, Decorated Egg, Garden on a Baking Tray and Photography. Please encourage your youngsters to take part The 3 categories for Adult and Child Photography classes are “Blue, Boats and Blooms”. Keep these in mind while you are out and about with your camera or mobile phone. Last year was the first time we had a Craft Section which proved very popular. This year we have repeated the Craft Section and added 2 new classes which are 1 sewn Item and 1 item of wickerwork. If your creation does not fit any of the named classes, you can enter under “Any other hand-made item”. |
