Festive wishes from OWLS

OWLS Community Car Scheme coordinators and drivers would like to wish all their customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

OWLS has provided almost 1,000 journeys this year to people living in Over, Willingham, Longstanton and Swavesey who need to attend medical appointments or make other necessary  journeys, but are unable to access other means of transport.

We urgently need more drivers to meet increasing demand. Are you retired or about to start retirement or perhaps working part-time? Drivers do not have to commit to regular days/times but being able to do one journey a week is really helpful. 

Drivers use their own cars and receive 45p a mile in total, and additional insurance cover is provided by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. A DBS check (free) is required

The OWLS mobile is manned by a rota of volunteer coordinators who have the phone for a fortnight at a time. We would also like to have an additional coordinator to help with this.
