Over Gardening Club News
Last month on Wed 16th October Tim Henshaw gave a very interesting talk on the past, present and future of NIAB and its importance to agriculture in our country. Members brought in some plants to sell and we had our usual raffle.
The Flower of the Month Competition results for October were:
1st – Jean Diver (Alstroemeria ‘Indian Summer’)
2nd – Cynthia Bidwell (Sedum Spectabile)
3rd – Adrian Dibb (Dahlia).
Other flowers brought in were: Dahlias, Colchicum (autumn crocus), Hydrangea, Abelia, Ceratostigma and Cosmos ‘Cherry Chocolate’.
On Wed 20th November at 7.30pm in the Main Hall of OCC, we have our next club evening. Hawk Honey will tell us about ‘The Forgotten Bees…’.
We usually think of honey bees and bumble bees needing our help in the garden. Find out more about all the other kinds of bees we might see.
Visitors are always welcome for a fee of £3 per visit.
