Over Gardening Club
Over Community Centre 16 The Doles, Over,, Cambridgeshire, United KingdomThe talk this month is about "Monet at Giverny" where the painter lived until his death in 1883. Our speaker is Caroline Holmes who is a well regarded speaker, broadcaster and writer on horticulture and often with a historical content. She has given talks about Monet at Giverny. Some of our members visited Monet's gardens and house on a Gardening Club holiday several years ago. This is the meeting when we judge the white geranium plants which were given out as plugs back in April. It will be interesting to see how they all differ so please bring yours along even if you think it is not a winner. Have a walk around your own garden to choose an entry for our Flower of the Month Competition. Don't forget to bring your purse for the Grand Raffle and chance to win one of the numerous prizes. We are a friendly group of gardeners and plant lovers who have regular meetings with a speaker and raffle and occasional plant sales. Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month; from September to May we meet at Over Community Centre where we usually have a guest speaker talking on various aspects of gardening, in June we often arrange a visit to a local garden and in July we hold a social evening. Membership runs annually from 1 April to 31 March and is currently £15.00 per year. Visitors to meetings are welcome but we do ask for a guest fee of £3.00 per visit. A 10% discount is available on most items at Oakington Garden Centre, plants at Parkhall Nursery in Somersham and also items from Madingley Mulch with a current membership card. If you would like to come to a meeting as a guest just turn up or contact any member of the committee for further details, we would love to see you. Committee members: Richard Cox, Julie Carter, Jeremy Tyrrell, Carolyn Redmayne, Carole Cowley, Jan Hook, Cynthia Bidwell, Rachel Henshaw Enquiries, please email gardeningclubover@gmail.com
