Cambridge City Foodbank
St Mary’s Church continues to deliver donations to the Cambridge Foodbank.
As part of preparing for Christmas the Foodbank are asking for people to pledge to donate a hamper! I am happy to take hampers to the Foodbank on Tuesday 12th December so we will need to collect them on 9th / 10th December but to do this you have to register via https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/donate-a-christmas-hamper-cambridge-city-foodbank-hamper-appeal-2023-tickets-735372317397?_gl=1*1tzwtam*_up*MQ..*_ga*NDI5NTMzNDE1LjE2OTk1NTUzMDE.*_ga_TQVES5V6SH*MTY5OTU1NTMwMC4xLjAuMTY5OTU1NTMwMC4wLjAuMA..
The idea is to get a strong carrier bag (the extra strong supermarket bags are ideal) and fill it with the following items:
Chocolate Christmas log or non alcoholic Christmas cake
Children’s Christmas chocolate e.g. selection box
After dinner/adult chocolate (no alcohol filled ones please)
Fancy sweet biscuits
Pringles or similar
Cheesy/savoury biscuits or similar
Nuts (not with shells)
Dried fruit (e.g. apricots, figs etc)
Tinned ham
Tinned tuna/salmon
Sweet pickles/chutney
Jam
Shower gel, hand soap or shampoo
- you can select standard, vegan etc but there are limited amounts needed of each
- there must be no perishables in the bag and all items must have a use by date of 25th December or later
- there cannot include any home-made items
If you wish St Mary’s to deliver your hamper please email admin@5folds.org.uk and we will get in touch about collecting it.
