New Park on Village Green Opened Today, Featuring Charity-Run Tuck Shop

Anticipation mounted this week as the Over community prepared for the grand opening of its newest treasure: the Village Green Park. Nestled in the heart of Over, this vibrant green space promises to be a hub of activity and joy for residents of all ages. This project has been a joint initiative between the Over Parish Council and local working group ‘Over Parks Regeneration Group’.

What: The official opening of the Village Green Park

When: Friday 19th April, 2pm

Where: The Village Green, Over, Cambridgeshire

Attendees were welcomed with open arms to explore the state-of-the-art play equipment. The park openings pièce de résistance, was the inclusion of a charming pop-up tuck shop within the Pavilion, operated by the esteemed Friends of Over Primary School (FOPS) charity. Registered UK charity (Registration 1063686)

Established with the primary school community’s well-being at its core, FOPS delighted park-goers with a selection of home-made delectable treats and refreshments. Every purchase made at the tuck shop not only tantalized taste buds but also contributed to supporting Over Primary School’s educational endeavours.

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make this day possible and to Local resident ‘Disco Dave’ who provided fun pop music and announcements.

A large crowd joined us in celebrating the inauguration of the Village Green Park, where families and friends can come together to create lasting memories in a space brimming with warmth and community spirit.
