0 to 19 HEALTHY CHILD PROGRAMME – ANTENATAL APPOINTMENT

Our team is made up of a variety of NHS staff with specific training and qualifications to support the health needs of children, young people and families in the community. In our teams we have Administrators, Assistant Practitioners, Health Visitors, Nursery Nurses, School Nurses, Staff Nurses, Students and Vision Screeners. Together we are able to offer a wide range of help, advice and support for children and young people aged 0 to 19 years old.

Antenatal Appointment

The 0 to 19 Healthy Child Programme team want you to feel informed and prepared for your baby’s arrival. Getting ready for a new baby and becoming a parent can be a wonderful life-changing event. It can also be a confusing time. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by all the new information being shared with you as you prepare for your baby’s arrival. If you have any questions or would like any support, advice or guidance, please call us on 0300 029 50 50

IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY

Please do not present at the GP surgery if you suspect that you are having a heart attack, a stroke or any other medical emergency. The surgery does not offer a walk-in, emergency service and we do not have the lifesaving equipment or medication that is needed in such circumstances. In the case of an emergency dial 999 immediately or present at Accident & Emergency at the hospital. Alternatively, the Minor Injuries Unit at the Princess of Wales Hospital Ely is open for patients with injuries that need attention but are not critical or life threatening.

TRANSFER FROM PRIVATE TO NHS CARE

If you have seen a private consultant and would like to transfer your ongoing care to the NHS, please be aware that you will need to join the NHS waiting list and wait for an appointment in the same way as any other patient who has not been seen privately. Previous private consultations do not provide priority access to NHS services or allow you to bypass the usual NHS waiting times. We appreciate your understanding that NHS referrals are managed according to clinical need and the same processes apply to everyone.

PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP (PPG) MEETINGS
The PPG brings together patients, GPs and staff from a GP practice. They meet to discuss issues relating to their surgery and the services provided to patients. This allows GPs and staff to work with patients to plan services which best meet the needs of the people who use those services. All of our patients are welcome.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 11th November, 7-9pm at the Unity Centre, Northstowe.
