The Library Presents returns for a new Autumn season brings you music, dance,  art workshops and a selection of stories for all ages. The Library Presents has many uplifting events to keep you entertained from 16th of October until 12th of December. Tickets are now available to book. Chosen by over 500 local residents, this season has a line-up of 32 different events, including a surprise event planned and delivered by the Library Present young producers. Councillors James Hutchcraft and Aisha Rashid Following an exceptionally hot summer, it is encouraging to see South Cambridgeshire District Council reach the carbon-reduction target it set itself in 2018. Council emissions in 2025/26 were 1,183 tonnes, compared with 1,929 tonnes in 2018/19. Once renewable electricity purchased by the Council and electricity exported are taken into account, this represents a 45.3% net reduction in emissions since the 2018/19 baseline. A significant part of this progress has come from improvements to the energy performance of South Cambs Hall and the transition towards lower-carbon vehicles. Local Government Reorganisation The Government has delayed its decision on the future structure of local councils in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough until October 2026. Elections for any new councils are still expected to take place in May 2027. This could have implications for how local services such as highways, education, and social care are delivered in the future. Learning Disability Services Learning Disability Partnership services across Cambridgeshire, including the City & South Cambridgeshire area, have been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following inspections earlier this year. Councillors James Hutchcraft and Aisha Rashid Local Government Reorganisation Delayed The Government has delayed its decision on Local Government Reorganisation in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, despite councils across the area having invested significant time and resources preparing for it. This latest announcement prolongs uncertainty for local services, staff and communities, at a time when residents deserve certainty rather than further delay. Had the Government been serious about its stated aims of reducing costs and bureaucracy and improving public services, this ought to have been a straightforward decision.
