Email: cllr.handley@scambs.gov.uk Over and Willingham Community/Mobile Warden Scheme The Age UK Community/Mobile Warden Scheme for Over and Willingham is currently under review. The scheme has had significant financial support over the years both from SCDC and Over and Willingham Parish Councils. However, the number of residents in Over who are taking advantage of the scheme has been low in recent years and Over Parish Council discontinued its financial support for 2025/26. A higher number of Willingham residents are in the scheme and the Parish Council there has elected to continue its support. Age UK tell us…

  • Over W.I.

    10th July 2025 /

  • Over W.I.: A Journey of Purpose: Volunteering in The Gambia with the Lisa Kent Trust

    1st July 2025 /

Two friends from Hardwick W.I. —Jackie Allen, a nurse, and her friend Helen, — embarked on a life-changing volunteer trip to The Gambia with the Lisa Kent Trust, a UK charity focused on education and healthcare. After months of fundraising — including head shaves, cycle rides, and community events — they self-funded their trip and raised additional support for the charity. But the local people were graceful, resilient, and welcoming. One unforgettable moment was watching a school cleaner elegantly balance…

  • An update from Fen Drayton Lakes

    26th June 2025 /

This September, on two dates only, we are bringing canoeing back to Fen Drayton Lakes. You will be led on an exploratory journey around islands and reed to experience the reserve from an angle rarely seen by visitors. We are working in partnership with a well-respected water sports company to deliver this exciting event so no previous experience of canoeing is required. You will be in expert hands and guided by a reserve warden with many years knowledge of the site and its wildlife. As you paddle gently through the waterways, you’ll find yourself immersed in a world teeming with life. Majestic bitterns stand sentinel in the reeds, their long…
