Christmas Bell Decorations
I cannot say who originally came up with this idea, but I have seen them on various internet sites and made by various friends.

Christmas recipes
Three recipes which I grew up with my Mum making in the 1970s. The only place I saw them written down was her handwritten recipe book, and so I cannot give credit to whoever originally created the recipes. Chocolate Mousse Beat 3 egg whites until stiff (and set aside) Whip 250 ml cream (and set aside) Mix together: Until this mixture is thick and creamy. Melt 100 g dark chocolate and add this to the mixture Add the whipped cream to the mixture Carefully fold in the beaten egg whites Refrigerate Boiled Fruit Cake (simple, nut free alternative to Christmas Cake) Boil together these ingredients over a low heat, for…

Spring Decorations
To hang Spring decorations on, the bare-branched artificial tree up in the loft or packed away in the garage with the Christmas decorations is useful. Whether you make or buy decorations, they’re a bit of fun for the season.

Let’s decorate the village for April!
The Spring Equinox has arrived, bringing warmer and sunnier days and we look forward to the lovely month of April. Following Mothering Sunday and Eid, April this year will include Easter, Passover and various Hindu festivals, as well as the new life of Spring in our flora and fauna. There are so many easy ways to decorate in celebration of any of these things, and it would be lovely to see lots of decorations around our village. Whether home-made or bought, they’ll be sure to raise a smile. We could put a wreath on the front door, pictures and decorations in windows, kebab sticks with decorations in pot plants, eggs…

Make Your Own Christmas Decoration
1. Use a fairly firm piece of paper – offcuts of thicker wrapping paper works well. In this example, we are using a page from a catalogue. Cut to desired size – we started off with paper measuring slightly over A5 – but it’s up to you! 2. Fold the paper into a concertino – each fold is approx 1.5 cm 3. Cut a triangle shape out of each end (or any other shape you fancy, or leave as is!) 4. Fold in half 5. Use raffia (for gift decoration) or cotton or ribbon (for tree decoration) to tie securely around the centre 6. Pull both sides out to meet…
