Report for October from Bill Handley, South Cambs District Councillor (SCDC)
Winter Fuel Payments and Pension Credit One of the first significant things the government has done since the election is to issue new rules on winter fuel payments which means that only those in receipt of Pension Tax Credits can receive the extra annual winter payment. Swavesey & District History Society
October 2024 Meeting Gill Shapland from Bar Hill entertained over 40 members and visitors with a lively talk on Bastardy, Bigamy, Brawling and Brothels! This is the result of her research into stories from the Isle of Ely Quarterly Sessions over the period 1726 to 1775. Many of our players still come from Over Village. We have coached training on Tuesdays from 7-8.30pm at Northstowe Secondary school (outdoor courts). First month is free, then £15 per month. We play in two leagues, Fenland league (Thursday evenings) and CDNL (Saturday daytime). We have players aged 16+ to 50+, lifelong netballers, people who haven’t played for years to those who recently switched club or moved to the area. If you fancy having a go, drop us an…
