Over Community Centre Play Equipment Installation
We’re updating the play equipment at the Community Centre. For everyone’s safety, the play area at the Community Centre will be closed from Monday 25 November for approximately 4-weeks. The play area on the Village Green will remain open during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Over Parish Council by emailing parishclerk@overparishcouncil.org.uk

Saturday Lunch Club at Over Day Centre
Bookings are still open for our next Saturday Lunch Club at the Day Centre, this Saturday 23, straight after the Memory Café. The cost is just £10.00 per person and you’ll enjoy a main course and dessert, plus tea and coffee. Service will start at 12.30pm. Over Parish Council – October Meeting Minutes
A full Parish Council meeting for Over Parish Council was held on 8th October 2024 at 19:00 in the Seminar Room at Over Community Centre. Present – Cllr G Twiss (Chairman), Cllr J Davies (Vice Chairman), Cllr S Couper, Cllr R Day, Cllr G Fenn, Cllr M Grange, Cllr R Robinson, Cllr G Theobald, CCllr F Thompson. Vacancies – Three Councillor Vacancies. 01/10/2024 Public Participation. No public attended the meeting. 02/10/2024 Reports from County and District Councillors. 2.1 – County Councillor – CCllr F Thompson’s monthly report had been circulated to members of the PC prior to the meeting. Over Gardening Club News
Last month on Wed 16th October Tim Henshaw gave a very interesting talk on the past, present and future of NIAB and its importance to agriculture in our country. Members brought in some plants to sell and we had our usual raffle. The Flower of the Month Competition results for October were: 1st – Jean Diver (Alstroemeria ‘Indian Summer’) 2nd – Cynthia Bidwell (Sedum Spectabile) 3rd – Adrian Dibb (Dahlia). Other flowers brought in were: Dahlias, Colchicum (autumn crocus), Hydrangea, Abelia, Ceratostigma and Cosmos ‘Cherry Chocolate’. Early Notification – Net Zero Villages Funding There is likely to be a CPCA grant funding opportunity soon in support of rural community capital projects to deliver reductions in greenhouse gases to support the objective of achieving Net Zero emissions. The paper will be considered by Council at the end of November and if (as expected) it is approved it will go live soon afterwards. As is often the case with this kind of funding, the amount of time to prepare and submit an application will be limited, hence the early warning so that community groups can get their thinking caps on. A murder mystery from Raw Theatre Productions from 7.30 pm. Tickets £20 including ploughmans. 30th November 2024 – Christmas Craft Fair from 1 pm to 4 pm.
