The Old Vicarage, Grantchester: Peter Tatam At least half of our members live in Over, including our secretary. The History Society meets at 7.30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month in The Carol Shaw Room at Swavesey Village College – through the main entrance then 20 metres along the corridor to the right. No need to book so you are welcome to just walk in. If you want further information, contact our Secretary, Carolyn (contact info below).

ENGLISH CREAM TEA CELEBRATION - WEDNESDAY 9th JULY 2.00-4.30 P.M. AT THE GONVILLE HOTEL - IN AID OF THE NSPCC You are invited to join us for an English Afternoon Tea event in the private gardens of the Gonville Hotel, Gonville Place, Cambridge. At 2pm cordials will be served and florist Madeline Bradley will give a floral demonstration and talk about trends in special occasion flowers, royal connections and will create several flower arrangements which will then be raffled at the end of the event. At 3pm Sandwiches, assorted cakes and a freshly made scone with clotted cream and jam will be served along with fine leaf teas. £27.50 per person.Groups of friends and families are most welcome to attend. Saturday 2nd August 2.00 – 4.30pm in Over Community Centre Main Hall Calling all Over residents to make a note of this date in your diary. Why not make this the first time you enter one or more of the categories. We have all the usual Produce classes: Vegetables, Fruit, Plants, Flowers & Arrangements, Home Cooking, Jams and Preserves, Homemade Beers and Spirits and Photography. People, Places and Pets are the three themes for both Adults and Children’s Photography 2025 so keep these in mind when you are out and about with your cameras or mobile phones. This year we are introducing a new Craft Section with 12 classes to participate in. We hope this will prove popular and give more opportunities to take part in the show. Watch out for details of the new classes shortly. The Children’s Section incudes Home Baking, Collage, Decorated Egg, and Garden on a Baking Tray ARTIME ART EXHIBITION Saturday 2nd August 2025 9.30am – 4.00pm ARTIME is one of Over’s local Art Groups and we will be showing an exhibition of our work in the Seminar Room at the Community Centre to run alongside the Over Produce Show. Artworks and cards on sale. |
