County Councillor Report July 2026
Local Government Reorganisation The Government has informed local authorities that it has not yet reached a final decision regarding Local Government Reorganisation in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. We are now expecting to hear back by the end of October. While this delay is disappointing, particularly given the significant work already undertaken by councils across the area, discussions and joint planning between the seven local authorities will continue to ensure we are prepared for any future changes. For residents, the key message is that there are currently no changes to council services. All services will continue to operate as normal while councils await further guidance and a final decision from Government. I…

We’d love your suggestions too, so please email us at submit@overvillage.co.uk. If you have any further good ideas, please send them to submit@overvillage.co.uk so that we can share them with our community: In the kitchen: In the bathroom: In the garden:

OWLS Urgently Needs a New Coordinator
Unfortunately OWLS (Community Car Scheme) is losing one of its long standing coordinators for family reasons. We thank her for all she has done for OWLS over the years that she has been a coordinator. We now need to urgently find at least one new volunteer coordinator so that the duties can be shared in a manageable way. Our volunteer coordinators are the backbone of OWLS and have such an important role to play organising journeys and liaising with customers and drivers. We can’t function without enough coordinators to evenly spread the load. Could you offer your services or do you know of anyone who might be willing and able…
