South Cambs District Councillor (SCDC) Bill Handley’s Report
Over Residents, April 2025 Greater Cambridge Housing Trajectory and Housing Land Supply Report 2025 (5 Year Land Supply) The Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Team has published a new report with a revised housing trajectory and our latest housing land supply calculations. This shows that in the five years from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2030, a total of 13,383 homes are anticipated to be built in Greater Cambridge, giving a housing land supply of 5.5 years. Gnome Roam – Friends of St Mary’s Church – 10th May
‘The Friends of St Mary’s Church’ committee have spent the past weeks hand crafting over 30 gnomes, which will be on display in St Mary’s Church on Saturday 10th May, from 10am. Each gnome is a different character and has a story to tell. There will be a quiz trail for children, but also lots to see and enjoy for adults of all ages. A ‘Gnome Cafe’ will be serving teas, cakes and lunches. A great fun event for the whole community to enjoy. Free entry.

Easter Bin Collections
Just in case you didn’t receive the letter from Greater Cambridge Shared Waste, here’s the information about the Easter Bin collections. Friday 18th’s bin collection will now take place on Monday 14th. So we will have collections on Friday 11th (black) and Monday 14th (blue and green). Then it’ll be back to normal from Friday 25th(black).

New Chair-based Exercise Class in Over
New chair-based exercise sessions taking place at Over Sheltered Housing scheme communal space started running several months ago and still have a few spaces available. These activities are designed to support a development in strength and balance, as well as functional fitness in later years. The sessions are led by a qualified instructor with chair-based exercise experience and qualifications. Priority is given to residents of the sheltered housing scheme, all welcome – please do act quickly if you would like to participate. See attached poster for further information.
