Dog and general waste bins – Windmill Close I am pleased to report that the dog waste and general waste bins near to the children’s play area on Windmill Close are being adopted by the council’s Shared Waste Service. This should put an end to the unsightly and overflowing bins that have been a feature there for too long. Over Gardening Club – Lots coming up in 2025!
OVER GARDENING CLUB On Wed 15th January at 7.30pm in the Main Hall of OCC, we have our next gardening club evening. We have a talk by Liz Porteous with the intriguing title… ‘Deadly, dangerous & downright annoying! Are garden plants friend or foe…?’ That’s a very good question… This month we start back with our ongoing monthly ‘Flower of the Month’ competition. Please bring in 1 stem of a flower or flower head. Over Players Spring Show – Calendar Girls
The Over Players are pleased to announce that their Spring Show for 2025 is Calendar Girls. Following the death of a much-loved husband, a group of ordinary women in a small Yorkshire Women’s Institute are prompted to do an extraordinary thing and set about creating a nude calendar to raise money for charity. The story of the Calendar Girls launched a global phenomenon: a million copycat calendars, a record-breaking movie, stage play and now a musical written by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth. Over Community Centre – Car Park Upgrade
The car park is to be upgraded and the work starts w/c 6th January 2025 and will last for 7 working days. Renovation work with see the car park being fully tarmacked and parking bays marked. The Centre remains open during this time but for safety reasons the car park will remain closed for users.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT Funding On 28 November, the Government released its Local Government Finance Policy Statement for 2025-2026. This outlines funding principles for local authorities for the financial year starting in April. Council tax caps remain at 3% for core tax and 2% for adult social care.
